CheckWatt expands with wind power

CheckWatt has acquired SM Teknik, a technology company specialising in connecting and controlling wind power stations. After this deal CheckWatt is now monitoring 662 wind power stations with an aggregated installed power of 956 MWatt. These power stations will now be possible to connect to the rapidly growing grid flexibility market in Sweden through CheckWatts virtual power plant Currently.

This makes CheckWatt the largest technology- and supplier-independent player in operation monitoring and aggregation of flexible energy resources on the Swedish electricity market.

CheckWatts EMS Currently deployed in Swedens largest battery park in Malmö

CNets spin-off company CheckWatt delivers the EMS – Energy Management System to Sweden’s largest charging and battery park and which is now built in Malmö. The EMS provides control, operational monitoring and visualization for energy-related data also providing smart control for hybrid inverters of photovoltaic systems to charge batteries and perform frequency regulation to enable connection to the electrical network. Additionally to charging stations for cars and trucks, a solar power installation on 1.5 hectares of nearby land is included. In order for the plant to reach its full economic potential, the flexibility of all the different resources is integrated within Checkwatt’s virtual power plant Currently.
